The Berkeley Brass  Quintet's founding members were hand-picked from the ranks of Berkeley's University Symphony Orchestra, though to this day they refuse to reveal who did the actual picking.  They were brought together firstly by their love of brass music, secondly by their undeniably winning personalities, and thirdly by their collective ferocious appetite and never-ending quest to find the best and biggest burrito.  The name Berkeley Brass Quintet was obviously inspired by the locale and the group's instruments of choice but the acronym BBQ made it especially fitting for this largely carnivorous quintet.
